The Three Musketeers is a French novel set in 17th Century France first serialized by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. It is required reading in several American schools, undoubtably at Greenpoint Grammar School. The Musketeers credo, "All for one and one for all!" becomes the inspiration for the students very early, appearing on a card inscribed "Awl 4. 1. an 2 by 4!" by Mickey Daniels when he is dressed as Douglas Fairbanks, possibly portraying D'Artagnan in The Big Show. It later becomes the moniker of the All-4-One Club. At one point, Alfalfa Switzer even gets hypnotized into believing he's D'Artagnan, one of the book's central characters, in Duel Personalities.
The famous cheer "All for one and one for all" is uttered, but with both parts of the quotation reversed, by the Rascals in the 1982 short Cap'n Spanky's Showboat in The Little Rascals (animated series).
