The note about One Terrible Day being the fourth film produced and the first one released was correct and should be reinstated. Rjh 05:37, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'm not sure why, but there's several images suddenly not coming up, and since Wikia changed its format, there's no longer any way to easily traverse the images for the site. I'm not sure just what is going on here. Thor2000 14:34, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
  • I've been seeing the same thing. It looks like trying to put in a borderless picture failed. Maybe things will get better in a little while. Rjh 06:21, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

From a 1922 Exhibitor's Trade Review[]

"Pathe Sets Sept. 10

As Release Date for "One Terrible Day"

Pathe makes the long anticipated announcement that Hal Roach's new idea in two-reel comedies bearing the trade mark of "Our Gang" has been successfully worked out and is ready for its first public demonstration. "One Terrible Day," the first of the series involving children and their animal friends in strained relations with the adult community, is scheduled for release on Sept. 10. Upon this occasion the Hal Roach "Zoo" is relied upon fully to justify itself — Dinah the Mule, Cork the Pony, Bill the Bulldog and a flock of educated geese being ably supported by Sunshine Sammy, "Roosevelt Pershing Smith" (as little Jackie Condon insists on being called) and such other trouble-makers as Mickey Daniels, Jack Davis, Peggy Cartwright, Winston Doty, Weston Doty and Dick Cartwright."

I brought this up because of some of the names mentioned, notably Dick Cartwright. I'm willing to bet that he's the tall kid wearing the horn rimmed glasses. Peggy Cartwright definitely had a brother named Dick, as noted in a 1922 "Holly Leaves" article:

"The children presenting a 'Miniature Dance Revue' at theJunior Orpheum, Hill street, this week are pupils of Miss Edith Lindsay. Peggy and Dick Cartwright are very popular children in Hollywood, both are well known for their splendid work in pictures. Peggy is being seen at present with Frank Mayo in "Afraid to Fight," and has won praise from the New York critics from her presentation of a very difficult role. The dances Peggy and Dick are doing on the Orpheum were specifically arranged fro them by Miss Lindsay."

Some of the animals are also named. Of note is "Bill the Bulldog." I'm willing to bet that this is the name of the original Our Gang dog (the one who resembles Pete, minus the circle around the eye). The name "Bill" is given to the dog in "Derby Day." It's worth nothing that the dog in "One Terrible Day" is neither the original dog, nor a bulldog.

Any thoughts? Mtw12055 (talk) 21:53, January 18, 2016 (UTC)
