The Short[]
Plot: Jubilo the singer is standing around harmonizing "That Old Gang Of Mine" with three fellow tramps as he tells the story of how he was unable to afford a gift on his mother's birthday. Back when he looked like Mickey, he overheard his father remark on how he couldn't afford birthday presents, so young Jubilo started taking odd jobs to buy his mother a $3.00 hat in a store window. He digs ditches, pushes a wheelbarrow and runs errands for a grocer. One job is to dig a hole is for what turns out to be an escaped lunatic. He finally puts together a circus to raise the money; Joe is a strong man, Farina has a trained dog, a trapeze act and very very familar bareback rider. Despite the show, Jubilo is still thirty cents short of his goal. He borrows the missing cents from his mother's pin money, but his father catches him stealing and punishes him. Once Jubilo reveals the hat, all is forgiven and mother wears the hat to church. As it turns out, his mother still wears the hat to this very day, arriving by limosine to reveal Jubilo as none other than Will Rogers himself.

Notes/Trivia:
- This is one of the few Our Gang shorts to feature the Little Rascals outside of their regular roles.
- This short was entirely reworked into the short Birthday Blues.
- Robert McGowan's own kids became honorary Rascals in this short.
- Mademoiselle Mary the Bareback Rider is actually Mickey Daniels in drag, suggesting a missing backstage plot point.
- This short, along with Four Parts and The Fraidy Cat, are the only shorts to feature the Rascals from Our Gang.
