The Short[]
Plot: A young heir named Cornelius has come to Greenpoint where he meets Alfalfa. The two boys discover they look exactly like each other and decide to switch clothes and identities. Cornelius wants to escape the rigid schedule of his governess, yet, Alfalfa blindly rushes into the idea to experience what it's like to be rich. Neither enjoys the other's life. Alfalfa is stuck with Cornelius's scheduled naps, dancing lessons and baths, and Cornelius, after promising the gang ice cream sodas to do Alfalfa's chores, discovers he has no money to pay for the sodas. Alfalfa escapes to run home and Cornelius flees the gang to head home, crossing paths and running into the aftermath of each other's experiences.

- This story is loosely based on the novella, The Prince and The Pauper, by Mark Twain, who Hal Roach, once met in his youth.
- Incredibly, one Alfalfa impersonator once used a double-exposed photo from this short to claim he played Carl Switzer's double for this short.
