(1940-1947)
Buckwheat, later renamed "Bucky", is initially portrayed as somewhat of an racial stereotype. However, the character eventually evolved as a much cleverer individual. In one issue of the Our Gang Comics, Buckwheat's real name is revealed to be "Alexander". In later issues, Buckwheat was seen in high school, participating in a track team.

Buckwheat is usually paired with Farina. He mostly tags along with the other kids.

Portrayed by Shavar Ross. Unlike the original film series, Buckwheat is now a clever inventor. He is paired with Porky, and often translates his pal's garbled speech for the other kids.

Portrayed by Isaiah "Zay-Zay" Fredericks. Like the original sereies, Buckwheat returns to his role as tag-along toddler along with Porky. Unlike his film series counterpart, Buckwheat takes lead from Porky.
