The Short[]
Plot: Alfalfa's Aunt Penelope has given up her work as a sculptress to be a novelist, or "authoress." She is in the middle of a murder mystery which she writes in the first person as if she were planning a murder, and when Alfalfa reads it, he believes she's going to kill him in order to inherit a non-existent fortune. When he ends up alone in the house with her, he calls the gang over to protect him, but they end up scaring her instead. As "Presidint" of the All-4-One Club, Spanky reminds the gang they must stick together, and forms a plan to stop the murder from happening. Buckwheat gets rids of all the knives, and Porky gets rid of all the medicine he thinks is poison in the bathroom, the sound of the shattering bottles scaring Alfalfa and Penelope. With the gang roaming through the house in addition to the noises, Aunt Penelope is at her wit's end. When Alfalfa's parents get home, the misunderstanding is cleared up, and Penelope announces she is leaving the madhouse. Alfalfa tries to apologize to her, but his dad takes him aside and gives him a dollar for getting his sister-in-law out of the house!

- Actress Marie Blake also starred as Butch's mother in Practical Jokers The sister of singer Jeanette McDonald, she acted under several names before finally settling on the name Blossom Rock, the name she used when she played Grandmama on the Sixties series, "The Addams Family." In her career, she also worked with Abbott and Costello and the Three Stooges.
